Rowling, J.K. (2003) ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’, UK signed and inscribed first edition

Joanne (Kathleen) Rowling (2003) ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix‘, UK first edition, first printing, published by Bloomsbury. Signed and inscribed by Rowling: “To Marion, best wishes, [signature] P.S. You sure [underlined] Grawp’s your type?!”. Rowling refers to ‘Grawp’ the giant which features in this book. A very unusual and most interesting inscription by the author.

Condition: near fine. The top page block is slightly toned and has a few foxing sprinkles close to the side edges. The paper stock used by the publisher was of notorious cheap quality so that toning to the pages is not unusual.

The fifth book in the seminal Harry Potter series which needs no introduction. This was the first book published after the first film adaptation in 2001. As a result, Rowling was catapulted into absolute stardom and there were no formal signing events. Hence, it is very difficult to find genuinely signed copies on the market. The added inscription makes this a rare gem.
