Dahl, Roald (1988) ‘Matidle’, UK signed reprint with amazing inscription
Roald Dahl (1988) ‘Matilda‘, UK first edition, fifth ptining. Signed and inscribed by the author on the ffep: “A certain amount of good luck will attend the owner of this particular copy of ‘Matilda’. Roald Dahl 1989”. Signed once more by Dahl on a ‘National Chldren’s Home’ plate which is pasted on the half-title page. The book was obviously donated by Roald Dahl to the NCH (now known as Action for Children, a UK children’s charity committed to helping vulnerable children and young people, and their families). The book was send out randomly to somebody who has dontaed to the charity.
Condition: the book is in fine condition or nearly so. The dust jacket is slightly faded on the spine and has light wear.
‘Matilda’ is one of the best and most loved of Dahl’s stories. Any signed copies are scarce to find as the author died in 1990. Fair value given this exceptional inscription despite being a reprint.
