limited to 26 copies for sale, lettered A-Z in Morse code and printed letterpress on Rives cotton paper. It is quarter bound in leather with crushed silk boards. A 14-karat gold cross is inset into the cover, with the chain of the cross foil stamped in gold. The edition features a gilded top edge and three custom pitchfork-shaped bands across the leather spine. Endpapers are handmade in India with metallic gold and silver on a base of 100% cotton rag. The book is housed in a handmade rough-sawn pine box with a black velvet-lined bookbed, and is designed to resemble the underside of a treehouse with a trapdoor opening.

Joe Hill is the nome de plume for Joseph Hillström King. He is Stephen King’s son, but wishing to breakthrough as a writer on his own merit rather than as the son of the celebrity and King of Horror Stephen Joseph chose Joe Hill as a name. ‘Horns’, Hill’s second novel, was nominated for the ‘Bram Stoker Award’ in 2010 and was adapted as a film in 2013.
