King, Stephen (1976) ‘Salem’s Lot’, UK first edition

Stephen King (1976) ‘Salem’s Lot‘, UK first edition, first printing, published by New English Library (NEL). In the first edition dust jacket displaying the correct GBP 3.95 price.

Condition: a near fine book which is internally clean with no previous owner’s names, no bookplates, no stamps. The boards are clean and square. The lettering is vibrant and NOT rubbed out. The book feels unread. The only flaws is the light foxing of the front third of the top page block as shown. The front page block shows a few foxing spots. The dust jacket is a beauty with no tears and no creases. The spine’s lettering has slightly faded into orange compared to the red on the front panel. A beautiful copy.

Salem’s Lot is Stephen King’s second novel. The UK print run was much lower than the 20,000 printed US first prints done by Doubleday.
