First and Fine is happy to appraise individual books or entire collections. We are committed to excellent service and are always delighted to make house calls, and to examine and inspect your books thoroughly. This is an integral part of our daily practice.

We can make initial first assessments from distance with the help of images, although nothing can replace the examination of a book in person. We will notice subtle condition nuances this way much more quickly and accurately. If a book is signed, confirmation of the authenticity of an author’s signature or inscription can ultimately only be verified in person.
