King, Stephen (1974) ‘Carrie’, US first edition

Stephen King (1974) ‘Carrie’, US first edition, first printing, published by Doubleday.

Condition: very good overall. This is a copy that was sold to Doubleday employees. Therefore there is a Employee Book Sale Doubleday (with the ‘D’) stamp on the ffep. It is black ink on black paper and thus somewhat camouflaged but still there and mentioned for accuracy. The book as such is near fine with no other issues to speak of. The dust jacket is not price clipped but the $5.95 price has been canceled out, presumably by the publisher. The dust jacket has a few tears and chips as pictured. This may be an opportunity to pick up a first edition copy at a reasonable price. Carrie first edition in fine condition cost at least a grand so this is good value if the collector can live with the few flaws.
Print run was with 30,000 copies small in today’s King first edition standards.
Carrie has been adapted twice as a film. It is King’s debut novel which launched his stellar career!
