Burroughs, Edgar Rice (1936) ‘Tarzan’s Quest’, US signed and inscribed first edition association copy

Edgar Rice Burroughs (1936)Tarzan’s Quest‘, first edition, first printing, published by Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. Signed and inscribed in black ink by the author to Evelyn Burroughs’ husband on the ffep: “To Dieth McKenzie | with best wishes | Uncle Ed | Tarzana”. Evelyn was Henry Burroughs daughter and Erb’s favourite niece. With the rare example of advance promotional dustjacket with praises for the new Tarzan novel “Coming September 1, 1936” on the verso.

Condition: The book square and tight, mild wear to board edges and folds, faded spine with fraying to the crown and pushing at foot. Endpapers free of any offset, pages moderately age toned otherwise clean and unmarked. The Dust jacket is unclipped showing the “$2.00” price on front flap, exceptionally bright and without any trace of spine fading so often found with this title, with minimal wear: a vertical crease along the spine where it was folded and a short 7 mm closed tear to the back flap edge. Very good in a near fine dust jacket.

The 19th installment in the seminal Tarzan series.
