King, Stephen (2011) ’11/22/63′, US signed limited edition inscribed copy

Stephen King (2011) ’11/22/63′, US signed limited edition, published by Scribner. One of 1,000 unnumbered copies. 850 were available for public sale, and they were all flat signed by the author. This copy is unique since Stephen King has inscribed it in addition to his signature with: “For Brian – with thanks for all you do – what a lot of pleasure you’ve provided! Stephen King [dated] 1/2/12 [underscored]”. The recipient is a glass artist in Sarasota, Florida where the Kings own a second home since 2001 and spend much of the year there (especially during the long Maine winters). The Kings have bought many of his artistic pieces over the years. Obviously Stephen must have liked the art so much that he showed his gratitude by making the book a gift to Brian.

Condition: the book is in near fine condition for the harshest of judges. It feels unread and displays just a slight push to the spine ends. The dust jacket is NOT price clipped showing the USD 150 as called for. Notice that the dust jacket art for the limited edition differs from the trade edition and that this specimen folds out. It also has a torn effect on the front flap which is part of the wrapper’s design and is NOT a flaw. The book is housed in a nice aftermarket traycase for maximum protection of your unique book. It  features a combo linen and leatherette wrap on the outside with the title stamped on the front. Title and author stamped on the spine. The inside is lined with red velvet and holds a double sided newspaper article. One side featuring headlines from “our” timeline the other from the “alternate” timeline. You decide which you want to display. The case is closed by a magnetic mechanism.

’11/22/63′ is another doorstopper novel by the master of horror and suspense fiction. It remains a fan favourite of the past decade, and has been adapted into a decent TV mini-series starring James Franco and Sarah Gadon.
