Condition: a near fine book in like dust jacket. No previous owner’s scribles, no bookplates, no stamps.  Clean throughout; no foxing; boards clean and sharp without any bumps. Pinkish top page block present, perhaps a touch faded. The dust jacket is a beauty. Not price clipped; NOT faded on the spine whatsoever as the vavst majority of these dust jackets are. One small tear to the rear panel (about one cm). A truely beautiful copy.

This is the first volume in the seminal ‘Karla’ trilogy and remains le Carre’s signature novel, and perhaps the most famous, best written, and most loved spy thriller of all time. It has been adapted by the BBC as a TV-mini series starring Sir Alec Guinness in 1979, and as a film starring Gary Oldman in 2011. There have also been numerous radio adaptations.
