A landmark autobiography (abbreviated for this special limited edition and illustrated throughout) by Nelson Mandela (1918-2013), who spent 27 years in prison on Robben Island before becoming South Africa’s President following the end of apartheid. Mandela renounced any vengence and strived for reconciliation, peace and national unity. He deservedly received the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize and is one of the most iconic political leaders of the 20th century.
