Wolf Hall is the winner of the 2009 Booker Prize, and the first novel in the Thomas Cromwell Trilogy. A landmark book in historical fiction writing. The book has also been shortlisted for the Golden Booker and was judged the best Booker winner of the 2010s. It has also won the National Book Critic Circle Award, and the Walter Scott Prize. The story was adapted as a TV-series by the BBC starring Mark Rylance and Damian Lewis winning the Golden Globe Award for the Best mini-series. It was also adapted for the theatre stage as well as for Broadway. The sequel novel, Bring Up the Bodies (2012) has also won the Booker Prize making Mantel one of only four writers (along Peter Carey, JM Coetzee, and Margaret Atwood) to have won the Booker twice. The concluding book The Mirror and the Light (2020) has been longlisted for the Booker.
