Rowling, J.K. (1999) ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’, UK uncorrected proof in green wraps

Joanne (Kathleen) Rowling (1999) ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban‘, UK uncorrected proof, published by Bloomsbury. This is the second state in green wraps and final proof before the trade first edition was issued. All issue points present including the blank dedication page. Housed in a bespoke full green leather solander box which presents the book spectacularly on the shelf whilst protecting it from any damage.

Condition: very good with light rubbing to the back cover as shown. The proof was read showing a slight slant and creases to the spine. Internally clean without any previous owner’s inscriptions, no bookplates, no stamps and no corrections by hand within the text.

Bloomsbury has stated that 150 proof copies in green wraps were printed. The book trade assumes 250 copies [Errington]. Whatever the true number, not many will have survived in decent condition.
