John le Carré (1989) ‘The Russia House‘, UK first edition, first printing, published by Hodder and Stoughton. Signed, dated and located by the author on the title page with ‘2 april ’01 | Cornwall’, the author’s home. The book also comes with the publisher’s promotional bellyband.

Condition: a very good copy without previous owner’s inscriptions, no stamps, no booplates. Internally clean. Apart from usual toning/ yellowing commensurate with age and moderate foxing on the top and fore edge of the textblock this is a nice specimen. The dust jacket is not clipped with one visible short tear. Scarce with the bellyband.

Adapted as a 1990 film starring the great Sean Connery and Michelle Pfeiffer.
