Boris Pasternak (1958) ‘Doctor Zhivago‘, UK first edition and first printing, published by Collins and Harvill Press.

Condition: near fine overall. Clean throughout, no inscriptions, no bookplates, no stamps. Page ageing to page block edges as usual; typical ghosting to endpapers. No lean as common. Nice red colour and vibrant boards with no bumps and no rubbing. The dust jacket is remarkably well preserved and very good wih light rubbing as shown. Dust jacket is protected in removable mylar.

Boris Pasternak won the Nobel Prize in Literature thanks to Doctor Zhivago, which was quickly issued in Italy first so that Pasternak could be awarded the Nobel in 1958 (Pasternak was forced by the Soviets to decline the prize).

Famously filmed in 1965 with the great Omar Sharif winning five Academy Awards.
