  1. Rocannon’s World‘ (1966), US true first edition paperback original. Signed and inscribed by Le Guin “For Patrck Christopher, also a firstborn, and his parents, Ursula K. Le Guin, 1987”. Near fine with usual ageing to the poor quality paper.
  2. Planet of Exile‘ (1966), US true first edition paperback original. Signed and inscribed by Le Guin “For Celia, Greg & Patrick Christopher, with best wishes, Ursula K. Le Guin, 1987”. Near fine with usual ageing to the poor quality paper.
  3. City of Illusions‘ (1967), US true first edition paperback original. Signed and inscribed by Le Guin “To Patrick Christopher, Celia, & Greg, All good wishes – Ursula K. Le Guin, July ’91”. Very good with the usual ageing to the poor quality paper.

Before Le Guin’s brekathrough with her semianl fantasy book ‘A Wizard of Earthsea’ (1968), Le Guin published those three short science fiction novels which subsequently became the first published novels in the loosely connected Hainish Cycle. The later published ‘The Left Hand of Darkness’ (1969) won her all the major prizes there are to win, the Hugo, and the Nebula. Similarly, ‘The Dispossessed’ (1974) won the Hugo, and the Locus Award. Le Guin was finally recognised with an American Academy of Arts and Letters membership in 2017. She always advocated to view sci-fi and fantasy as literature and that critics should not marginalise genre fiction as such as the categorisation does more harm than good.
